2MW Ground Mount Solar PV, Jandakot Airport Holdings, Jandakot, WA
Project Outcomes
PAE undertook a detailed feasibility assessment on integrating solar PV for the commercial and industrial embedded network site at Jandakot City. Our analysis of performance outcomes, system configuration, logistical / installation constraints and risks resulted in a unique whole of system solution to achieve maximum energy savings from optimally designed embedded generation that will benefit from renewable energy WA for land and project developments.
Our engineering analysis provided bankable system generation forecasts and financial analysis captured Authority fees; capital, operational and maintenance expenditures; possible grants and financial incentives; cost benefits (electricity savings, return on investment (ROI) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) figures) and project funding options for WA microgrids.
Challenges Overcome
- Civil aviation restrictions
- Land development constraints
- Two separate grid connections with associated load balancing requirements
- Challenging economics from the potential impact of roof top solar installations by tenants all contributed to a very challenging technical and economic project design that were successfully overcome through innovative whole of system thinking by PAE
