300kW Solar PV System and 300kW Battery Energy Storage System & Car Park Structure Roof-Mounted System, Broome WA
In 2021 Perdaman Advanced Energy procured and commenced works on the jewel in its commercial solar crown for the Hawaiian Group at the Cable Beach Resort in Broome.
The system consisted of 50kW of panels on the Sunset Bar on the main property, and another 250Kw of Car Park Solar Structures at the Southern end of the property and a 300kWh BESS powerhouse.
Bringing together, civil, structural, electrical and solar trades and multiple sub-contractors, powerhouse construction and fit out, was an outstanding effort. The system was commissioned and became operational in April 2022, and this project showcases exactly what Perdaman Advanced Energy is capable of, and why it was chosen by Hawaiian to undertake such a mission on their behalf.
Issues Managed
Not only remote management due to a pandemic and having to navigate through supply chain issues, but cyclones and inclement weather circumstances also posed their challenges and with predominantly a wet season civil construction period. Meticulous day to day management of the project was conducted both remotely and on site. Safety mechanisms were a priority, as the resort was fully operational during the whole installation and mitigating general public accessibility to the working areas was a number one factor. Despite civil and structural impacts due to inclement weather at times, consistent communication between PAE and the resort and Hawaiian ensured transparency and enabled alternative plans to be made as applicable to the times. With so many moving parts, it is testimony to the PAE delivery teams both in-house and on site that our capability to deliver to the client’s expectations is exceptional.
Outcomes
PAE expertly delivered the project through some tough social, economic and supply chain challenges and were highly commended for delivering an outstanding Solar and Battery Energy Storage Project.
