90kW and 30kW Solar PV Systems
Chatham and Taree High schools, Taree NSW
PAE designed, supplied and installed a 90kW Solar PV System at Chatham High school and a 30kW System at Taree High school both located in the Mid North Coast suburb of Taree in NSW. Both systems utilised Tier 1 Canadian Solar 340W KuMax Solar PV Modules and industry leading SMA Sunny Tri-Power Inverters.

As the schools are located 3 hours out of Sydney this resulted in logistical challenges. These were overcome by utilising Perdaman Advanced Energy’s network of installers in NSW. A complying development certificate (CDC) was successfully attained for the school which is a BCA Class 9 building. This involved sign offs from the minister of education and structural inspection before and after installation. The installation was executed around school hours to minimize any disruption to the school. This included weekend work and working on school holidays. The logistics of deliveries were planned out with the school to ensure delivery points and times resulted in minimal disruption to the school. Fencing was utilised to keep students away from equipment.
This project required PAE to implement export restriction at Chatham high school. This was achieved by installing a cluster controller and SMA energy meter. Additionally, a grid protection relay was installed to ensure power quality is acceptable for export to the grid as well as to provide anti-islanding protection.
